Short Overview
What is this new distribution about? (Short video on youtube)
It is based on Aros 68k and Kickstart Replacement and is extended with 68k components/technology and software. From the view of applications and games it is a patched 3.1. environment. But it is not another 68k distribution, it is a real independent environment that is highly compatible and can run on real hardware and emulated. That makes it not only interesting for “classic”-user but also in future for buyers of new 68k hardware (Natami or FPGA-Arcade), as extension for Aros (X86) distributions, for users that want to try it out on their hardware/OS (Windows and planned Mac/Linux) and Users of other amiga-based Systems. The basic idea behind the distribution is to use Aros 68k as base to replace 3.1. and extend it with 68k software and components.
Features in short:
- Easy to install
- Free (no components from classic amiga-installations including ROM needed) and of course free of charge
- Available in future for real hardware and emulated environments
- It defines a reliable environment for software-developers with a potential big number of users
- Combination of 68k components (Libraries, Datatypes, MUI-Classes), Software (Tools and Utilities and Software that is permitted for distribution) with Aros 68k

First experiences (WinUAE):
many programs (games and applications) work, some not. All original files including ROM are replaced and both are not 100% compatible (and still have errors). Both are still in development but I think they have reached a state where they are useful for users and developers. The rule is the more compatible a program is (and the less it hacks on the system) the more propable it is that it runs. After first tests f.e. Hollywood 4.8, Amigawriter, ArtEffect and Finalwriter runs on it. I will publish a list what software works with it (including which games run with the kickstart replacement)
There are of course still some errors. When you find some please report them to me (info@innovatronic.de) or on aros-exec.org. I will publish a list here and give the informations to the maintainer of Aros 68k and Kickstart Replacement. Sourcefiles are included. I have put in a lot of care just to include files that are free to distribute). If someone thinks that there is anything in that is not allowed to distribute or a author does not want to have his software included, please send me a short email.
Workarounds (description in textfile) by using original files for adding Arexx, narrator.device/say, Installer
